Kal - Nadhaswaram , as the name says is said to be made of granite stone. Usually , Nadhaswaram is made of wood , whereas this typical musical instrument is made of rare type of stone.
It weighs six times more than the weight of the normal Nadhaswaram, i.e., 3.60Kg and 2.5 feet long. It resembles the North Indian Shenoy instrument. This typical musical instrument has only six swaras whereas the normal Nadhaswaram, made of wood has seven swaras.
